MCC - Blouse #236 MMXV

I liked this blouse and the fit - no adjustments  on the pattern
but I wanted to change to a A-symmetrical line and for it to be a looser fit like the Lagen-look ..... which I'm really falling in love with.
So this is what I did with the pattern and I used a cotton/linen blend fabric.

The front is changed to A-symmetrical lines
The  front  is changed to A-symmetrical lines.

First add side seams and the length needed.

Remember when changing the button placket, you need to cut a facing for new button placket and interface it.

You also need to extra for the Underlap of the button placket Remember you need to add more for the Underlap of the button placket .... so that the overlap will sit on your Underlap when doing the buttons......

Ignore pleat in center back.
Add side seams and length to back pattern.

I made my back a little longer than the front when I've got it on.

Sew

Sew front shoulders to yoke front- sandwiching  in between  the two yokes.

Sandwich back section to back of yoke section

Press yoke front and back,
Topstitch if wanted to.

Stitch collar in, press, topstitch.
Stitch sleeves in.

I didn't like the pointy side seams.... just to pointy.
I used my ruler and curved it more evenly, at the hem side seams.

       Love the outcome!

Boho Fashion with Lutterloh

I had some inquiries about Boho Fashion patterns......
So first of all I needed to Google it and see what it's all about.
Def: Boho Fashion -Bohemian clothing inspired by hippie clothing.

I got so excited (those were them days). I got carried away because there is so many patterns you can use in the Lutterloh System, the only difference is choosing the fabric for the right look. Some ideas I liked! So I'm only focusing on tops now. Specially a pheasant blouse design.

So here is some options of patterns - only to last years (2014) supplements .

I used Pattern 81 MMX

I made mine out of lots of scrap leftover fabrics, using the princess style makes this so easy.

It is a Fuller figure pattern, which gives me a bit more ease on some designs and I decided only at the end that I'm not going to add sleeves.

I was also playing with some embroidery designs so I thought this pattern worked quite well.

I shoud've add about 2cm in the armhole - for sleeveless, I thought it was too low, although the sleeveless dress is no different than the blouse with sleeves - so sewing with Lutterloh always check this
because if you've cut the fabric you cant add on.

I decided I'm just going to try gathering at the underarm section, and was surprised how good it worked. Then I just biased the armhole.

On most occasions I will actually sew the underarm
seam tighter, but this is not stretch fabric and it
would've been difficult wearing this, getting in and
out of it.
It is really hot at the moment and this is  a nice loose
cool top to wear, just relaxing!

Introduction:

We have at last took the big step and started a blog!!!.....about time I would say. First of all.....let me introduce myself: I am Sonja Bezuidenhout of Lutterloh Patterns in New Zealand.

I have had a passion for sewing from a very young age and my first sewing machine was a prize won in a local competition. Born in South Africa, I first pursued a Nursing career, but then sought a change in direction and qualified as a Computer Programmer.

With the arrival of my first of three girls, I decided to follow my passion and became a Dressmaker and later established a Sewing School in the Limpopo Province. I was introduced to the Lutterloh Pattern Making System in 1993 and was so impressed with the beautiful fit, cut and style of the outfits created using the system; I began teaching my students using Lutterloh patterns.

Six years later the Bezuidenhout family and our business moved to New Zealand, and I began teaching sewing and pattern making from my new home in Auckland. The Lutterloh family in Germany approached the Bezuidenhout’s with an offer to promote the program through New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Trips to the USA and Canada were also undertaken to stimulate the product at Craft Fairs. Numerous articles on the Lutterloh system by myself have featured in the Australian Sewing with Stitches magazine

I now travel mainly across New Zealand and Australia presenting workshops and demonstrations at Fairs, Sewing Shops, Fabric Stores and Conventions. When at home, I run Online Sewing Classes, Sewing Projects & Pattern Making Retreats

Purpose of this blog:

I know out there are a lot of  sewers enjoying the Lutterloh System and some who have problems using it. I hope by setting up this forum, we all would be able to share our experiences and learn from each other. I will endeavour to visit this blog and comment once a week, and will also from time to time post some interesting tips and ideas, photos etc.

Hope we will all enjoy this journey together!
